Make Up For Ever Super Matte Loose Powder

1. Don’t use a foundation that contains SPF if you know you’re going to be photographed with a flash.

2. Don’t use a SPF and a SPF foundation if you know you’re going to be photographed.

3. Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide are mainly responsible for foundation flashback – but only when they are active ingredients (meaning in high concentrations).

4. If you’re using a SPF foundation then use a setting powder that has a colour to it (ie – make up for ever super matte loose – or any other colour powder). This will help shield you from the flashback.

5. If you’re a makeup artist doing bridal NO SPF what-so-ever unless its really really necessary.

6. HD powder that are 100% silica are a NO NO when using flash. They are the worst of the worst. Using a very light hand is fine, but if you apply with even the faintest of a heavy hand – well, you can see from the picture that i took.

Why I Love The Double Cleanse Method

cleansing oil removes oil-based matter – sebum, dirt, pollution, water-resistant makeup, and stubborn sunscreen.

A cleansing oil is an excellent way to cleanse oily skin and control blackheads, breakouts, and other congestion. This is because oil attracts oil. So if you have acne do not be afraid to double cleanse it’s key to your skincare routine.

A very gentle & thorough cleansing day & night is the foundation of effective skincare. Moisturizing serums and creams are absorbed 10x better.

  1. Prepare. Either mix your oils together ahead of time, or you can use just 1 type of oil.
  2. Cleanse. Pour the oil in the palm of your hand and then apply gently all over your dry face. Massage firmly, but gently, always moving upwards. Massage for 2 minutes.
  3. Rinse.  Rinse off your face with warm water & slowly begin to wipe off with a wet warm washcloth. Rinse your washcloth and repeat until you’ve wiped all the oil off your skin.

After the oil cleanse you can then go into your facial cleanser of your choice.

Below oils are great to use as the first step in your double cleanse routine. I personally love the pre cleanse by Dermalogica because it has rice bran in it along with some other amazing ingredients.
