LIGHTSTIM

You can buy red light therapy from https://www.amazon.com/ . I chose LightStim because I’m good friends with the account executive in my area. With my license I also get a sweet discount. I love what it does for my skin. I also love how I get quick results in my client’s skin by using this magic wand on them. Bottom line is that it works no b/s. Now everyone’s skin is different but for me & my skin it has taken away brown spots that I thought I was going to have forever. If I would have known about this in my 20’s I would have started this in my 20’s. But I didn’t so I am just starting now at 35. I wish someone would have told me. Anyway this is a legit investment, it won’t let you down. It’s also super relaxing like (makes you want to fall asleep relaxing ). I usually do it at night to put me in the mood to sleep. (That’s a whole other blog post) Sleep & I don’t get along at times.

Okay so here’s what it does ( I love knowing how things work , I’m kinda boring but I am a real BIG nerd at heart) :

The wavelengths of light energy can treat your fine lines and wrinkles

🤯 light therapy was originally used by NASA for wound healing in space ( by the way I used it on a burn that I got while cooking & I literally have no scar because of this tool)

It increases collagen and elastin production, reduces inflammation, speeds healing, increases circulation, destroys acne bacteria etc.

The list goes on & on people. Results may vary because everyone has different DNA 🙂 Just wanted to share what I learned.

Relax & Chill Smoothie

Did you know that you can treat your skin from within ?  Blend until it’s creamy-smooth baby!

So , here is what I do :

1 cup of almond milk, 1 tbsp of peanut butter, 1 date, 1/2 a banana, 1 scoop of marine collagen, 1 scoop of collagen peptides, 1 scoop of inulin, 1 scoop of adaptogenic, & some ice. I like to top mine off with chia seeds & coconut flakes. I added links to get some of the supplements, everything else you can find at the grocery store. Cheers!

Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) For Your Skin

“The basis to a healthy clear skin begins with a comprehensive cleansing routine.”

I get a lot of questions about AHA’s so I wanted to break it down & let you know how it works. AHA’s are pretty amazing & a must have in your skincare routine. The two main types of AHA’s are called glycolic acid & lactic acid. It’s a chemical exfoliant that causes the cells of the epidermis (top layer of skin) to become “unglued” allowing the dead skin cells to slough off, making room for regrowth of new skin cells. Because you are removing the outer layer of the skin you must use an SPF (SUPER IMPORTANT) The layers underneath are very vulnerable to UV rays. Even if your not exfoliating you should always be using SPF everyday, that’s the most important beauty item you will ever buy. If I was allowed 1 beauty product on a deserted tropical island it would be SPF.

What do AHA’s do for my skin?

They help clear blemishes, hydrate the skin and lighten pigment spots by loosening  layers of dead cells clinging to the skin’s surface. They also reduce fine lines & improve skin’s texture. Alpha hydroxy acid is your dead skin “detacher.” Imagine your skin as many cells, held together by a “glue.” AHA works by loosening up this glue and letting the cells fall away easier which reveals new skin underneath.

Lactic Acid ? Tell me more

The greatest benefit of having a professional lactic acid peel is that it is gentler on your skin than most other types of peels.  Unlike a glycolic acid peel or a salicylic acid peel, a lactic acid peel is extra gentle and good for even the most sensitive skin. Lactic Acid peels are a wonderful choice for those undergoing a peel for the first time.

Glycolic Acid? What’s this going to do?

Glycolic acid is the most active and effective of the AHAs. It is the only AHA that is able to penetrate through the cell walls due to its tiny molecular size. Glycolic acid helps to bind water to the skin which increases skin hydration & gives you that healthy glow.

Why should I use an AHA?

To help to reveal brighter, healthier, and plumper skin beneath. If you feel like your skin is looking very dull & unhealthy then you should invest in an AHA. If you have sun-damage and dry skin this will help skin retain more water thus improving the moisture content & allowing your serums & moisturizers to penetrate deeper & work better.

To start seeing improvement you need to complete a series of peels, generally 6 peels spaced between 3 – 4 weeks. If you have acne I would recommend a BHA.

Before you decide to try acid peel treatment, it’s wise to visit a skin care specialist who performs these peels on a regular basis and understands your unique needs.

I love sharing my favorite beauty products with you 🙂 IMG_4715

My husband has major crows feet lol & these eye patches really smooth them out. With continued use the crows feet will disappear. I’m hoping he listens to me more often & gets into skincare (fingers crossed)

When I use the eye patches my under eye area gets brighter & my concealer goes on smooth without creasing.
